ALABAMA TOPS

 

Greetings! TOP season is off and running!  Our unofficial start was Alabama’s first ever TOP Invitational and Clinic (see pictures below). We had several gyms represented with a total of 18 Athletes.  All Physical Abilities were tested in each age group in seven  categories.  Each gymnast was awarded a specially designed medal.  Each athlete and coach received an Alabama TOP T-shirt.  The clinic included work on Dance, Bars, Beam, and Floor touching on basics to the Elite Compulsory.  Special thanks to Kelly Hill, James Linderholm, and David Hill for giving of their time to this clinic.  Special thanks also goes to MOE’s Southwest Grill (Jack and Nikki Atkins) for sponsoring this event and for their donation of “Moe’s Bucks”.

 

USA Gymnastics has unveiled a new system for registering for TOP tests.  ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST GO THROUGH THE NATIONAL OFFICE AND ARE COMPLETED ONLINE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO EACH TEST.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  The pull-up test has been omitted and cast handstand has been added.  For a complete update of all the changes for this season, please go to www.usa-gymnastics.org/women/tops/tops/html.

                                  Montgomery, Alabama
