Tops News-Hopes Division

 

As always, a new year brings new adventures and new expectations and 2006 will be no exception.  With the advent of the new Code of Points, we now have an opportunity to introduce a new Optional Elite Level for our young “Hopeful” developing Elite athletes.   This division (which we would like to call “Hopes”) will better help those athletes and their coaches with their Elite development.  Input into this program was gathered from several National Team coaches, Judges and USAG administration staff.

 

1      Eliminate the TOP Compulsory and the Child Pre Elite Divisions

2      Create the “Hopes” Division

A  Ages 10-12

B  Qualification to Challenge through Regional/National Qualifiers

o       Compulsory score – 32.00

o       Optional score – Holding on this

C  Challenge

o       No Physical Abilities

o       Compulsory 30%

o       Optional 70%

D  Compulsory Changes (for all age divisions) (all compulsory scores attained in January 2006 will be good for the 2006 season.

o       Vault – will allow all entry vaults (with salto)

o       Must turn a Beam Dismount (No timer)
